Bloody Malaysian Drivers.....that's including me too...

I was driving along Kesas Highway Thursday morning, and....I got involved in an accident. Some bugger (H. Accord) was driving way too fast, didn't stop in time. Hit poor fella (Kelisa) behind me and Kelisa hit me. Curses, swears.....

Reckless H. Accord
Poor Kelisa
Poor Kelisa

POOR ME!! *cries* And my car is only 2 months old....Damn!

If you wanna know, this is what you do in an accident:

  1. Take down car registration number. Call your insurance agent.

  2. Determine how serious accident is (so you know if you're gonna make an insurance claim).

  3. If you're gonna make an insurance claim: you need a police report (within 24hours).

  4. Go to police station of that area, make a report. The police will then take pictures of the damage to your vehicle

  5. Then police will make a judgement on who's at fault, fine the driver at fault and produce a report the next day (usually)

  6. You will need the police's report to make an insurance claim. You will also need the person's insurance policy number to get a claim too (or if you're at fault, other driver will need your policy number)

  7. Go to a panel workshop and let the nightmare begin. No car for a week or weeks...

REMEMBER, DO NOT:

  1. Be hassled by police or any towing company touts into sending it to a workshop of their choice (unless you're dead drunk, of course)

  2. There's no need to provide the other driver with your ID or business card. It's at your discretion whether you should be nice enough (or not) to do that. There's no Regulation saying yoummust provide ID to the other driver.

  3. In fact, there's no need to stop. If you feel there's a need to make a police report for insurance claim, by all means, just drive to the nearest police station. There are also no Regulation stating that you have to come down from your vehicle to negotiate. You can proceed to make a police report in 24 hours. This is definitely sound advise for any females involved in accidents. With such frustratingly high sexual crime rates in Malaysia, definitely smart move!!

Happy driving!
